چکیده

Understanding how delayed information impacts queueing systems is an important area of research. However, much of the current literature neglects one important feature of many queueing systems, namely non-stationary arrivals. Non-stationary arrivals model the fact that customers tend to access services during certain times of the day and not at a constant rate. In this paper, we analyze two two-dimensional deterministic fluid models that incorporate customer choice behavior based on delayed queue length information with time varying arrivals. In the first model, customers receive queue length information that is delayed by a constant ∆. In the second model, customers receive information about the queue length through a moving average of the queue length where the moving average window is ∆. We analyze the impact of the time varying arrival rate and show using asymptotic analysis that the time varying arrival rate does not impact the critical delay unless the frequency of the time varying arrival

The Asymptotic Behavior of Queues with Time-Varying Arrival Rates Author(s):

This paper discusses the asymptotic behavior of the M,/ G/c queue having a Poisson arrival process with a general deterministic intensity. Since traditional equilibrium does not always exist, other notions of asymptotic stability are introduced and investigated. For the periodic case, limit theorems are proved complementing Harrison and Lemoine (1977) and Lemoine (1981). PERIODIC QUEUE; NON-STA...

L. Breuer: Two Examples for Computationally Tractable Periodic Queues Two Examples for Computationally Tractable Periodic Queues

Abstract: In the present paper, the periodic queue is analyzed. This queue has a periodic BMAP arrival process, which is defined in this paper, and exponential service time distributions with service rates varying periodically in time. The transient distribution and several formulae for its efficient computation are derived. Furthermore, a stability condition in terms of arrival and service rat...

Analysis of M/G/ 1 queueing model with state dependent arrival and vacation

This investigation deals with single server queueing system wherein the arrival of the units follow Poisson process with varying arrival rates in different states and the service time of the units is arbitrary (general) distributed. The server may take a vacation of a fixed duration or may continue to be available in the system for next service. Using the probability argument, we construct the ...

Analysis of two production inventory systems with buffer, retrials and different production rates

This paper considers the comparison of two ðs; SÞ production inventory systems with retrials of unsatisfied customers. The time for producing and adding each item to the inventory is exponentially distributed with rate b. However, a production rate ab higher than b is used at the beginning of the production. The higher production rate will reduce customers’ loss when inventory level appro...
